Senior Meal Musts

While all meals should be prepared with care, it is important that you don’t forget to include specific nutrients.

Lean protein

When in the grocery store, make sure to opt for the leaner meats. Include seafood, eggs and beans in to your diet as well if you aren’t in the mood for meat.

Fruits and vegetables

Always include fruits and vegetables in your daily meals. The greener the better! Try to keep them raw or steamed.

Whole grains

Try to keep them brown when buying rice or pasta. Eat oatmeal and fiber-filled cereal for breakfast.

Low-fat dairy

Opt for fat-free milk and cheese when buying for the household.

Ultimately try to keep your sugars and salts to a minimum. It’s important to keep your meals full of nutrients, and keep them well-balanced!
