Slow Cooker Recipe: The Best Beef Stew You’ve Ever Had!

Tender Home Health provides information during the pandemic to help you enjoy your time while stuck inside. The following recipe is not only delicious, it’s surprisingly easy to make. After you chop the onions and mince the garlic it takes just two easy steps. It’s also very TENDER!

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

• 2 pounds beef stew meat, (cut into bite-sized pieces)
• 1 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp pepper
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 2 celery ribs, sliced
• 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
• 6 oz can tomato paste
• 32 oz beef broth
• 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 cups baby carrots carrots
• 4-5 small red potatoes, cut into bite-sized pieces (about 3 cups)
• 1 tablespoon dried parsley
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 1 cups frozen peas
• 1 cup frozen corn
• 1/4 cup flour
• 1/4 cup water

STEP 1 – Combine beef, red onion, carrots, celery, potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and tomato paste in the crock pot. A 6 qt crockpot works best for this stew, but make do with what you have. Cook on LOW for 10 hours (my favorite) or on HIGH for 6-7 hours.

STEP 2 – Approximately 30 minutes before serving, mix the flour and the water together in a small dish and pour both into the crockpot. Make sure to mix it until well combined, creating a nice thickness to the stew. Finally add in your frozen peas and corn. Continue cooking covered for 30 minutes and serve.

Remember we are all in this together. Aside from our loved ones, nothing warms the heart and fills the stomach better than a delicious home cooked meal.
